Healthy meals for kids sorted
As a parent, a big concern of yours is to ensure your kids develop healthy eating habits. It’s important to develop positive experiences about food also so that the kids look forward to and know how to prepare quick, tasty meals for themselves, and sometimes for you too.
An air fryer is a useful, creative addition to your kitchen, especially when you have children in the house. The kids don’t have to wave goodbye to favorite meals, but now those same favorites are healthier, as they’re prepared with less oil, and sometimes no oil. We’re going to look at three air fryer recipes your kids will love –
We all know how kids just love spaghetti. They could live on it if you gave them a chance. This healthy Pasta Carbonara recipe will be working overtime in your kitchen.
- 300g spaghetti
- 250g white button mushrooms
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 chopped up garlic cloves
- 5g butter
- 350g carbonara mushroom sauce
- 150g water
The delicious Carbonara sauce starts off with the preheating of the air fryer saucepan to 140° for 5 mins. Oil the sides of the saucepan with water. Add garlic and air fry at 140°. Add the mushrooms and carbonara sauce, the water, and seasoning, and mix well. Airfry all this at 150° for 18 min.
Pasta is always best cooked in boiling water as opposed to being done in the air fryer. Boil your pasta in a pot of salted water till soft. Pour the sauce into the cooked pasta and add any garnishes that take your fancy such as cheese and chopped parsley. Enjoy with a lovely fresh green salad.
Air fryer Baked Potato
This is a seriously popular recipe – everybody’s favorite – and it comes with parsley and garlic. Those are two such healthy ingredients and garlic particularly is known for its potent immune-boosting properties.
Garlic is one food that has seriously potent healing properties with its anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, and anti-flammatory properties. Potatoes too are a staple food, and as a root vegetable, they meet the nutritional needs of people around the world.
They make such a satisfying snack, and what’s more, they’re packed with essential nutrients. Great for when the kids get back from school.
Take 2 or 3 potatoes, wash them with their skins on and cook the potatoes at high heat with air circulating. The cool thing with the air fryer is that you don’t have to wrap the potatoes in foil – you just place them right into the basket.
Once they have the oil on them they’re ready for the air fryer. Fry at 392° for 35-40 minutes, though smaller potatoes will require a shorter time.
